the yearly christmas poem

Surfin' in a Ran’s Wonderland!

Tom Paul’s venting, are you list'nin'?
On Mark Fine, the sweat is glist'nin'
It’s a beautiful fight, we're happy tonight
Surfin' in a Ran’s Wonderland!

Gone away is Jeremy Glenn
Here to stay, he is again
We state what is wrong, as we post along
Surfin' in a Ran’s Wonderland!

In any meadow we can build a golf course
Then we pretend it’s Pacific Dunes
They’ll ask "Move any earth?" We'll say, "No, man!"
but Fazio will get the job when he’s in town!"

Later on Tommy will conspire
thinking of golf, he’ll never tire
To post unafraid, the opinions that he made
Surfin' in a Ran’s Wonderland!

MacWood’s opinion, we are list'nin'?
an all-nighter our eyes are glist'nin'
A beautiful sight, we're happy tonight
Surfin' in a Ran’s Wonderland!

Gone away is the fake name
Open discussion is Ran’s aim
We may be wrong, as we go along
Surfin' in a Ran’s Wonderland!

On the site we can challenge each man
And call each other a clown
We'll have lots of fun with A Clay Man
Until the “Full Members” knock 'im down!

When you post, ain't it thrillin'
They all diagree, it gets a chillin?
We'll frolic and play the Morrissett way
Surfin' in a Ran’s Wonderland!
Surfin' in a Ran’s Wonderland!

Great poem Ian!  One of my blessings this year was finding this wonderful site.  It has re-sparked my interest in the game, and made me appreciate more the thoughtful work of the people who design and maintain our courses.  I hope that all GCArs have a great holiday season and many new golfing experiences in the new year.

Oh no!  My previous actions have come back to haunt me...

Nice to see you back, Ian.  How are things in Toronto?  We must have a beer together one of these days.  A canuck beer, of course, not that American watered-down stuff...  :)

Drop me a line next time you come to "La Belle Province".

Sorry Jeremy, it fit the original line without me trying.
I'll be back mid summer...work at Laval continues...I'll meet you guys then. Your office has a lot of new projects to show off. I look forward to seeing them.

Congratulations are well deserved for the best new course, I was happy to see you guys won!

I can hit two birds with one stone.
Jeremy,
Congrats indeed, I tried to get in touch with Graham around the time we did our feature but it did not work out.  Our guys who did it though raved about the course, so there must be something special.

Ian,
Nice to hear from you again.  Perhaps we can get together in the spring for a round.
