I have found out that golf cart paths have the same design parameters as X country ski paths, down to being placed on the south side of tees and greens (to keep the path shady for better ice/snow and to keep the green/tee sunny for better turf).
Moguls are pretty good approximations of chocolate drop mounds.
At Giant's Ridge, I did suggest they use ski lifts to get golfers up to a few of the more elevated tees as a nod to their winter sport (didn't happen there, but I think it has elsewhere)
Back in my KN days, we did some remodel for a local Chicago ski hill. I recall the owner getting some fill that would allow him to raise his hill. However, he didn't want runs any steeper and he didn't want them going across the golf course. We kept drawing him section views to show that was impossible - higher and same slope means longer or higher and same length means steeper. He didn't seem to understand.
