I saw this. It looks like a great reason to stop in Atlanta if my schedule allows.
You know you love the way they sing Wastin' Precious Tam in Atlanta.
Not to mention the Brick Store Pub...

The exhibition is well worth a visit. The art on view is drawn from all over the world and will not be together again in our lifetimes.

I hope as many come as are able.

Och,

What wouldn't I give to visit this exhibition. Looks wonderful. I wonder if their exhibition catalogue is able to be purchased. Georgias stuff!

Will our intrepid golfing adventurer be a'wisitin'?

I already told my wife I've got a "date night" planned for us at the High Museum.   :)

She didn't fall for it, she already knew there was a golf exhibit.  But, nevertheless, she is up for it.

Pete Finch at Golf Digest, admittedly not an art critic, wasn't enamored by the Art of Golf exhibition at the High Museum in Atlanta:

Any dissenting views?

Gentlefolks,

Pete Finch says "But too much of the Art of Golf is notable ONLY because its subject is golf."

That is exactly WHY I would have wanted to go.  I wouldn't be expecting fine art! I imagine that the golf tragic conflated with the genuine art critic would have to be the rarest of birds! Not much wonder there were only two other lost souls present.....and I presume one of them was Mac P.!

Cheers Colin

The show is what it is advertised to be. It is about the art of golf. I will leave it to others to judge the art as art. But if you are a golfer, I think you will enjoy the show and find it well worth a visit.

Many pieces, including some of the best in the show, are on loan from private collections and have not been reproduced in the golf books we all own. They were new to me and great fun to see for the first time.
