1.  Cabot Links will have visits from many active posters of GCA.com, along with other golf commentators, and will rise beyond even high expectations of those who rank things.

2.  Bill McBride and his lovely wife Kathleen will win a Celtic clog dance contest at a Nova Scotia pub during Celtic Festival.

3.  Bill will retaiin the "kiss your sister" trophy, in a re-match with his arch nemisis Daley, whereby he will reach the 18 of Cabot Links all tied but hung over and very sweaty, and have a 4ft bogie putt to win the non-stroke hole and match, missing the downhill putt on the right lip out and going over 4ft past the hole. But, he'll make the comeback for double.  His sister will have left the premisisin revulsion after the 17th was played and lost to his worthy opponent in anticipation of his expected performance.

4.  BallyNeal's problems will be in the rear view mirror.

5.  Dismal Doak will get more than anticipated play due to a highly advanced state of grow-in conditions, and Chris will assume duties as a pastry chef in their kitchen.  Cupcakes all around!

6.  Norman will win the Olympic course bid, and upon initial opening of the ground excavations, will find disappeared persons, holding up construction schedules.

7.  Doak will feel relief...  ::) :-\ 8)

7.  The Colts will trade their #1 pick and offer Matt Flynn a nice contract. Rams will take Griffin and Luck will be 3rd to Vikes.

8.  I will break 80 for first time in 3 years.

No actual golf rounds were ruined or delayed, nor golf rules broken, in the taking of any photographs that may be displayed by the above forum user.

8-  The Fifth Major will have a record turn out which will be very exciting until twice as many people turn up for the 2013 event and all involved will be nostalgic for the "good old days"...
9-  25 golf nerds nationwide will attempt to walk 100 holes for charity.  True sales will skyrocket...
10- Streamsong will get overexposed in these pages and proceed to live up to the hype.

If he averages 4.4 WAR over the entirety of the contract it is not an overpay. It was also a play for the L.A. market at a time of weakness for los Doyers. Not to mention the team friendly contracts in Weaver, Kendrick, possibly CJ (I happen to think so) and 2 young outfield stars in Bourjos and Trout... The next 10 years looks pretty bright, despite the risk.

Another prediction: Tiger will win the Masters AND the U.S. Open, he's got a mighty fine track record in California Opens and putts Poa better than anyone.

Pujols' oWAR took a steep drop last year and we know from the past that once a player gets into his 30s he can go very quickly.  If he puts up another 5.4 WAR or declines from that next year then it would be almost impossible for him to get close to a 4.4 WAR average for the rest of the deal.

That said, the Angels are swimming in money from the FOX deal so this will not kill the franchise if Pujols pulls a Mo Vaughn.

If I was an Angels fan I would be encouraged that it looks like Dipoto has managed to wrest control of the roster away from Scioscia.

Eric - if Jud is right, do prior participants (ie. me in 2012) get precedence for the 2013 5th Major?

True, David. The drop the last couple years is concerning, but only time will tell. The one statistical piece of evidence that helps me is how the elite have aged differently than just your average hall of famer. Hank Aaron, Pete Rose, Barry Bonds (ok so the roids were probably a factor) were all terrific players into their 40s. I'm hoping for the same in Pujols, but there is no way of knowing.

And yes, I am a huge fan of what DiPoto has done, but even if Scoscia was the de facto GM, I'm still convinced that dolt Tony Reagins did not help one bit.

Alex,

Remember there is at least a 10% chance that Pujols is older than he says.

Undoubtedly. Pujols is the next Fausto Carmona. Or is it Roberto Hernandez Heredia

Albert will have at least 5 good years of close to normal Albert production...and if the Angels can win one Series in that timeframe the investment will be worth it, esp when you factor in that they will see him hit his 800th HR as a DH in an Angel uniform...in 2021.

Plus, he's no longer in the NL  :)

Mike Young reopens Longshadow and it drops two spots to #6 public course in GA by Golfweek.  It also turns a huge profit.

Heidi Klum remarries to Tim Gunn.

George Bahto releases the much anticipated Raynor book.  First editions sell out in two hours based mostly on GCA'ers buying two apiece.

Renaissance Golf design opens one domestic project and finishes another.  Neither are the best golf course they will create in 2012.

The Gunners edge out Chelsea to make it into the Champions League.

I am so sorry to hear Longshadow closed. It is a very good course. Mike Young in a friend and star on here. I thank him for his observations and wish him the best year ever in 2012. I am a little doubtful about the Cubbies, plus the removed my connection tot he team when the GM was let go. I am enjoying reading all of these and so hope each of you has a wonderful 2012. I personally am looking forward to what 2012 brings and have high hopes. Naturally, I hope my beloved Tigers pick up where they left off spending most of 2011 as #1 but finish the job in 2012 at #1.
