History of Fairway Snake Bunker
« on: January 22, 2012, 08:54:46 PM »
I was wondering if someone could outline the history of a snake like fairway bunker.  I'm reviewing a 1938 picture of our 3rd hole. The course was built in 1927.  Inland park located in Columbus, Ohio.  The snake like bunker started right center of the fairway approx. 650 feet from the green and ended left side approx. 500 feet from the green.  By 1958 it was removed.  Any history, frequency of use, etc. would be appreciated.  I think Holsten Hills by Ross has one.
