Certainly easy to claim from every hole - I think both of our courses probably fit that bill but the sepcific claim was from every green and every tee.

At any rate someone threw that out in my office today and struck nme as odd... and likely untrue. And yes the person uttering the claim was in sales.

Crail (Balcomie).

I'm struggling to think of a tee or green at Fishers Island from which you cannot see either the Sound or out to the Atlantic.

I can confirm that you indeed can see the ocean from every tee and green at Fishers.

Fishers Island and I am surprised it took so long for somebody to mention it. (I know I was not the first)

At Old Head you can see the ocean from at least one tee box on every hole and you can from every green.

Fwiw, the claim doesn't necessarily mean it was designed to fill that goal by the architect. Could just be a happy accident.

Not on hole 1 (tee or green) unless my memory is failing or you are a helluva lot taller than me (5'9").   I suppose it is possible and I just haven't noticed but I've played at least 10 rounds there over the years and often heard people comment that #1 was the only hole where you couldn't see the ocean.  Admittedly I can sometimes let golf get in the way of scenery but I feel like I would have noticed that due to the number of comments alone.

The architect would definitely not set out to achieve such a "goal" and would roll his eyes at such a marketing claim.

I think I'm right in saying that at one point Kingsbarns claimed to be the only course in Scotland that you could see the sea from every hole. Clearly wrong but I think I'm right in saying that was the claim.

Others

Royal Tarlair (I doubt theres a part of the course that you can't see the sea)
Millport
West Kilbride
Craigielaw
Fortrose and Rosemarkie (?)

It would have taken a nerve for Kingsbarns to claim that, since you you can see Balcomie from Kingsbarns.  Thay can't claim not to have known it was there!

Hi Brian, you can see the ocean behind you and to the East  (across the 4th and 5) of the headland from the black and blue tees. You also have that view but not as good from the white tee (no view at all the senior or ladies), Standing on the green looking back down the hole you have a great 180 degree view of the ocean with the lighthouse in the middle.

Thanks for giving me an excuse to go up and recheck it as its one of the nicer days in January to be out here!!

Awesome!  Nice stuff.  I usually play from the Blues there (don't think I have played the Black) but hadn't noticed that at all.  I was iffy on the green call but still felt good about it.  Perhaps that's always because we're waiting to turn the corner to 2 for the jaw dropping views.  Did they take any plant life down that used to be there.  IIRC the entry road is just to the right of the first tee, then maintenance sheds and such between that and hole 5.  I thought that the plant life was too tall to see past that.  Thanks for checking.

My favorite golf picture that actually has me in it was taken at old head: http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a337/stewabr/P8190015.jpg  ;D

Thats a great Photo Brian !! When was your last trip ? we have done some work on the tees on number 1 and the blue & black have been raised over the years. All the plantations to the right of these tee complex are around waist high and they do block the view totally from the front 2 tees.

Here are a few with "on every hole" claims...at least according to their marketing copywriters.

Kiawah -- TOC
"Unobstructed views of Kiawah’s beautiful Atlantic coastline from every hole."
http://www.kiawahresort.com/golf/the-ocean-course/

[Can you see the ocean from #1? Likely the farthest hole from the shore.]

Careful parsing of Kiawah's copy reveals a claim of coastline views from every hole, not necessarily views of the ocean itself. Marketing copywriters sometimes like to suggest a mental picture and let the reader fill in the details.

There's probably a couple but whether thats down to ground levels or vegetation it would be hard to say. I'm thinking of the green of the short par four at the furthest point out and the par 3 down the hill.

I'm going out on a limb but I think if you include inland lakes, a view of the water at some point on every hole at Sutton Bay, S.D., and Bayside, Ogalalla NE.
No actual golf rounds were ruined or delayed, nor golf rules broken, in the taking of any photographs that may be displayed by the above forum user.

The humble 9 hole course on Lord Howe Island, between Australia &New Zealand certainly affords Pacific Ocean views from all tees & greens.

A small course - Gerringong GC in NSW would have that feature. Whilst its a fun country track - with some nice views I wouldn't think the marketing of such a claim would make me want to specifically play a course for that feature.

Tasmania GC affords views of the bay region I think from every tee / green ?

At Kiawah I was surprised about how little blue water I could see, or hear.  Very far removed from the ocean, and in fact the only time I really felt near it was on #13 (par 3 Redan) and 18 green.

At Kingsbarn I don't think you can see the water from the 7th green tucked in-between the dunes...so Tom D. there's your variety (and I recall you not being overly enthused about that hole...unlike me)!
