Well gents, I'll take my lumps for starting an O.T. thread based on a strong revulsion I had seeing Every's state of mind and attitude in the whole Tilgman interview. It caused me to fire off an O.T. withing minutes of the fact, and while Faldo made his also immediate response. So, it wasn't a unique or isolated reaction to what we saw in the interview. I don't think Tilgman is to be blamed for seeing and ferreting out what was pretty obvious. I came to the same impression- that he was stoned, and if I were being paid to bring viewers 'the story' I would have used the same angle of questions and wording, that did in deed suggest a context. The guy is leading the golf tournament, and knows it is part of the professional drill that he will be asked to do a post round interview. As Alex Miceli observed, Every has been bringing up the old story, when no one was asking. No, he didn't bring it up in the instant interview with KT, but we don't know the context of what KT saw or heard before the camera rolled. But, she had the reporter's instinct. I don't see that as predatory or unfair. That is just me, I guess.
Daly was a so-called character and many were saying we need characters in the game, until the character turned tragic. It remains to be seen, IMHO, if Every is another character, lovable as Cheech and Chong in their space cadet humorous stupor, that is a play on the culture clash and issue of pot, or a slacker destined to shoot himself in the foot due to a lack of a pause button. But, again in my impression, too much leaning on the Maui Wowi humor will only get you so far, and the other character issues will remain to be seen.
To summarize, I like KT, don't like what I've seen of Every, and couldn't care less about pot per se until it diminishes the integrity of the game and its professional performers. i'm out... se rves me right to receive the crit for the O.T.
