Are there any? Why not give us hackers a better shot at an ace?

Tetherow #17 by David Kidd.  And I did hear there are quite of few aces on that hole.

The third at Westhampton CC is a punchbowl par 3. I love it, would like to see more as well.

Great hole.  Another interesting feature of this hole is that it is blind!

Alex, I was going to bring up the blind factor, but then I thought that a few I have seen are blind. The 16th at NGLA, and the new 16th at Southampton. Do I need to get out more? Can you see most of the bowls?

The 16th at Waverley is named Punchbowl, but hasn't been for a number of decades. Gil Hanse is in the process of returning the green to its namesake.

Lahinch's Dell hole, #5, blind punch bowl, or do you believe it needs access via the ground?

Other than Dell, the hole which springs to mind is Painswick's 7th.  Although, it probably more akin to a tea cup than a punch bowl.

Sean and 5 is a punchbowl at Painswick, even 10 is a close one on 3 sides.

Anthony - I tried to create 'hole in one' pin positions on my last course in a couple of spots, obviously collecting on the three sides left, back and right.

#3 at Maryland Golf has a bowl in the front but I would not classify it as a true punchbowl.

I wonder if Tom Doak would call #5 at Barnbougle Dunes a punchbowl?

Two that spring immediately to mind are the uphill 9th (?) at Granton on Spey that has steep banks at the sides and back but open at the front. The 4th at Moray has a similar style green but set at a slight angle, a fantastic hole. Wish I had photos to post.......wish I could post photos.

Jim,

I can't picture this hole in my mind, does it play back over a pond?

5th at Ridgeview Ranch in Plano, Tx.  Seems to be everyone's favorite hole.  Quote: "I can hit it anywhere and I still end up near the pin!"

I had forgotten about that one, isn't there a water treatment plant or something next to that hole?

That and a few others......not to mention the waste recycling center across the street.  Man, I get some wonderful sites to work on!
