East London Golf Club

I caught a few minutes' coverage of the Africa Open at East London Golf Club today. It looks refreshingly old world and the pictures on the website seem to bear this out. Anybody know it? Do we know its architectural history?

I have played there but once, I know nothing of the provenance of the club but I do know that when the Eastern Cape wind comes up, no one, including the top pros will go 27 under.
