This little peninsula sticks into the Hudson and is near Hudson National, across from Paramount, and north of the collection of westy-chesty courses that includes Sleepy Hollow, Century, Westchester, Trump National and Metropolis. Is anyone familiar with the land? It is currently marked as a park and nature center, in an area that has few of those and many golf courses. Still, one can dream...

Yeah, the southern point is an enormous Native American shell midden from hundreds of years ago. You can still find the mollusks all over the place. It's a nice enough park, but could be better given the land!

No clue...I just happened to see it while wiling away the hours and posed this thought, without even considering the space. Looks like the train line runs right past it, beyond the industrialized section.

Croton Point Park sits immediately west of the Croton-Harmon Train Station, the largest on the Hudson line of Metro North.  The park is probably best known as the home of Pete Seeger's annual Hudson River Clearwater Festival. I haven't been to the park in about 40 years. It had an area for concerts, a playground, walking trails and picnic areas with tables. With the deacdes long connection to Clearwater and nature and the general public's perception of golf courses, I can't see this park ever becoming a golf course even if it was big enough.

Thanks, Stewart. As I meant to say, I stumbled upon the land while google mapping and was taken by its penetration into the Hudson. To me, it's a fun exercise to imagine courses over pieces of property in western New York, so this was a simple extension of that.

Ron - I know. My wife complains that wherever we go I imagine a golf hole or course on the site. Her eyes glaze over when I start pointing out imagined teeing grounds and fairways.  Of course, most of them are locations that would be terrible and/or uneconomical for golf.
