Hi all,

Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Greg Thomsen. I have been perusing the forum for a couple of years and thought I'd like to join the conversation.

I am a landscape designer and builder from Sydney who is interested in golf course architecture and construction. I am hoping to one day merge these two interests perhaps.

I am passionate about links golf and courses which have the 'million miles away from anywhere' feeling. I am interested in the relationship between the natural landscape of a site and a golf course, which I think is one of the great features of the sandbelt courses.

Look forward to discussing and learning.

Cheers, Greg

Welcome Greg.

Where in Sydney are you and where do you play?

Thanks Scott,

I am in Cronulla but my home club is down at Port Kembla near Wollongong. Father & brothers are members there also so its just easy to base my membership there.

I play mainly up in Sydney at St Michaels which I like and The Coast because its reciprocal with PKGC. I have played The Doon a few times, its a great site, the new holes look like they are going to be really good.

Cheers, Greg

Hi Wade,

A couple of my favorites are Newcastle & Great Lakes Tuncurry which is a real hidden gem.
