Help! where to buy a 2009 British Open poster....
« on: January 02, 2012, 08:36:13 PM »
A surprise present for a special friend....

Like so many of us, only, in person, he witnessed and anguished through Watson 's 18th hole agony......
Am getting no hits via the Internet  :-[

Thoughts anyone?

I have an Adidas golf shirt from that Open, tags still on it.  I was there as well, my favorite golf experience ever.

Meant to add it's a size (US) L, (UK) XL.  PM me if interested.  Jim Huber's book about the event is a nice read too.

Scott -

It may be more than you were planning to spend, but it looks like the R&A does still have the "official print" of the 2009 Open for sale:

Shortly after recommending Jim Huber's book I read from Charlie Rymer that he has passed away.  Awful news, what a classy guy.

David, THANKS for R&A link!
The website picture is rather tiny so I've emailed them to see if the Print contains any written references to "The Open"
( I assume it does...hard to tell on website!)

Many Thanks..

It appears that the USGA "custom" of posters with prominent year and club has not crossed the pond........?????

Donal, I had seen the two items....and they may "work"......

My inclination is to keep searching for a "poster" vs photo, with the event name and course on it,
akin to those that the USGA does for their Open....

perhaps the R&A doesn't do that....I have sent them an email of inquiry.....and will keep you updated....Thanks

Scott,

I shot the course ahead of the 2009 Open Championship for the R&A. The resulting shots were displayed in the players' lounge and various championship committee rooms. The images are now being used by Turnberry Resort as part of its marketing endeavours.

Although none of the shots have text relating to the event, which I believe is what you are looking for, I thought this might be of some interest.

Let me know what you think - http://www.markalexanderphotography.co.uk/Turnberry/

Cheers, and Happy New year!

Mark...WOW!!!!!     Perusing your website has me checking NYC -Glasgow flights!......

In fact, It's now bookmarked, to help get me thought the work day......... ;)

But, I'm searching for a "poster", to" match" the US Open one my son framed from Rory's win @ Congressional this year.......

R&A hasn't replied to my email yet...hopefully it's not ignored....

Cheers Scott
