Split Rock on New Years Day
« on: December 28, 2011, 04:09:25 PM »
I have heard nothing but good reviews as evidenced by this thread by Tony Pioppi at http://www.golfclubatlas.com/forum/index.pcp/topic,50430.0.html. A balmy 48 for the high with no overnight frost per the weather channel. I called the shop and they advised that the sheet is wide open. Get rid of those New Years Eve after effects. Any interest? Bueller?

Fair warning since i too read the profile and it inspired me to go play the course a few weeks ago--there are two courses at this facility--the one profiled is Split Rock, and is closed for the season.  I enjoyed the one that is open--Pelham, whose greens have a lot of turn of the century character.  the bunkers have been redone and offer some challenge,  But its not the one in the pictures.

Thanks Scott. I was looking for a player to travel to Split Rock but have been out voted as many of the courses in and around Hartford are still open.
