A great routing is just that.  The "art" is finding it, or creating it.

If minimalist architecture was the judge of quality golf, then a manufactured terrain would not be defined as great. Fazio has taken terrain such as Shooting Star and moved earth to produce a superior golf course. The routing works well and the course is a great course.  Contrast it with a minimalistic Sebonak which really is a routing that is superior but is saddled with a couple of golf holes that I just don't understand. Neither is obviously a loser, just different. The true question is which would I rather play each day?   ............ Sebonack 17 to 15
