Ash...great stuff. I don't know the details behind your wife's ailments, but I am glad things are returing to normal. Nothing grounds you like the loss of your health.
The highlight of my year revovles around the community and welcoming nature of golf and, more specifically, GCA.com. I won't bore y'all again with the details, as I did it in the 2011-The best year of my life thread. But the sense of community here is incredible. Thanks!!
My highlight was almost being able to play with Mac
I made the cut until the very last minute when he realized that I was not worth the issues that he was probably creating with the wife - don't worry Mac, you made the right choice. ;
Honest personal golf highlights (excluding that absolute thrill it is for me to see my father and sons golf together on a weekly basis at our local club - while I work):
1. Becoming involved with gca and getting to know some great people. A year ago I was all about playing great courses, now I am all about meeting great people that share my love of the game.
2. Taking group of 28 guys (none of whom had been there) to Bandon for a week. Having the group buy my wife and I a weekend at Pinehurst as a thank you gift - which stopped her complaining about the amount of time I spend on golf.
3. Playing at the Dunes with the Judge and Franklin. Terry - you were a fantastic host, I only wish that I could have bev'd it up with you. Jim - hope the Canes end up as good as the Buckeyes - who get into trouble with the NCAA and end up with Urban Meyer.
4. Weekend at Pete Dye GC in West Va - my favorite Dye course other than Ocean.
