4 courses from Melbourne and the surrounding area, from my visit in the middle of winter last week....

1.  An old classic, that would happily reside 12,000 miles away.  You can stay here.  Australian top 20 course


2.  Sometimes referred to as 'The Qantas Club'.  A very impressive facility, including a basement carpark.  The hole shown is #18 of a top 10 Australian course


3.  School is in!  An appropriate clubhouse for a course rated in Australia's top 10 but lost much of its good land and holes 50 years ago to a Primary School land acquisition.


4.  Two shots of a classic clubhouse, with accomodation upstairs.  Australian top 10 course.

In my opinion, one of NZ's greatest looking clubhouses is the one at Christchurch Golf Club.



Here is a couple of photos after the February 2011 earthquake:





185 people were killed that day. Many parts of the city (NZs second largest) are now uninhabitable and the city centre is still off limits as 75% of it has to be demolished.

Sometimes its good to remember golf is just a game.

I really enjoyed Hurstbourne Country Club's clubhouse in Louisville, Ky.  Not a famous, high-profile course, but the clubhouse was impressive (at least to me).  I can't access my photos from my work computer, but someone might be able to locate and post one.

I was searching for something else when I stumbled upon this topic.  Most of the pictures appear corrupted or won't show on my old fashioned computer.

Anyone think we can convince Jon C to post his treasure trove of clubhouse pictures on this thread?

Thanks for the Oitavos Dunes pic. It is nice to see a recently built clubhouse that has not be designed/built to look like it is 100 years old.
