Don't want to be a d*ck and ruin the game...but I hit a 9-iron a foot from the hole back right here this past summer, and ended up with a 60-footer from the front fringe!
So I jump ship in Hong Kong....

I hit a niblick...above the hole. Never a good thing on this hole. Actually, never a good thing on this course!

Tommy,

I'm not sure what the correct answer is but it's definitely not a hole from Somerset.

A couple people know the hole very well and have refrained from giving the answer.  There are quite a few clues kicking around the discussion group.  From those clues, those who have not played the course will be able to figure out the hole.

Robert,

Is this a hole that follows an excellent uphill par four. ?   If its the hole Im thinking of, it may be a place  where Lee Trevino or Jerry  Pate  have vivid memories

I recognized it immediately from playing it - but I'll follow others' leads and let more people guess.  Is this before or after the restoration?  I know they had some wild things planned for the back portion of the green.

# 3 at Paramount? Sorry if I spoiled the fun(assuming I am right) but the OP did say guess. Paramount has a great collection of par 3`s.

Other than the teeing grounds being lowered, the green complex and it's surrounding bunkering has yet to be restored. It is on Jim's list and will likely be done in the fall of 2012, if not sooner.

This is the 3rd at Paramount.  This came late in the round last tournament, but the third member of my group played 1-3 4 over par without missing a green, while Tony DeMaria played these holes- 3--the mistake was being above the pins on 1 and 3 and forcing the comeback putt.  This par 3 demands patience and discipline to hit away from the flag for a better birdie putt
