« on: December 07, 2011, 03:40:23 PM »
As a permutation on the Roads subject, how about bars named after (famous) golf architects?

Adam,  you're quick  :)

Another candidate would be The Colt Room at Hotel Le Manoir  at Le Touquet, although technically it isn't a Bar...

I've found it interesting that a number of Pete Dye courses have a "Pete's Pub", but, as he noted in his book, Pete doesn't drink. Seems a little silly.

The bar/lounge area at Victoria (British Columbia) Golf Club is called Macan's... in honour of golf architect and long-time club member, Vernon Macan.

Ben's Porch at Sand Hills Golf Club comes to mind as well. That is, Crenshaw.

And I suspect in no time that the bar at Swinkelsche, in Holland, will be named Pont's... or Frank's  ;D

I was always kind of proud that the bar on The Wire was named Kavanagh's.

Pete doesn't drink anymore.

By the way, bars aside, when he and one of his sons teamed up with Bobby Weed a few years ago they formed the greatest-named architecture firm ever: Dye Weed Dye
