This came from the February 9th, 1918 edition of The New York Evening Post. Must have been a cold winter.  ;D

Thanks much, Jim. That was very well done.  So many little bits that elevate it - my favourite might be at the end, when we learn that Friday shot 714 because he was decidely off his game 'toward the finish'.  Good stuff...
