You believe Google Earth was developed for the intent purpose of gawking at golf course aerials.
Play golf in Virginia on three of the lousiest days in history -- very cold, windy, rainy -- because it was the Dixie Cup, a notorious conclave of GCA nerds.

Mark,I think that's a good post for the nerd column: you know you're a gca nerd if you have a list of all courses played organized by architect..Then again, I'm guessing a bunch of us will now try to create such a list...
You fly 5 hours and drive another 5 more, just to meet up with a bunch of other nerds and talk golf all weekend!

If this is your car...
I met several golf dorks at Palmetto Club last night and played 36 holes with them today. Now these guys have the latest in golf shoes, bags and all types of "ground" game. BUT when I got there it was cold and they were all in a circle in the pro shop warmong up with the greatest golf nerd/dork training aid I have seen in a long time. I think next time GCA orders bags they should order one of these with each. You can see it here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2ewsEKVJVA
