MacKenzie Weekend - May 2012
« on: November 11, 2011, 03:41:44 PM »
I'm looking at organising a weekend get-together in May next year taking in two superb MacKenzie courses - Reddish Vale and Cavendish.

My thoughts are;

Sat 1.30pm Assemble Reddish Vale in Stockport for lunch.

Sat 3.00pm  Play Reddish Vale

Sat night in Buxton at one of the many hotels

Sun 8.30am Cavendish

Sun Lunch at Cavendish followed by another round for those who want to.

Price for two rounds plus evening meal & B&B will be around £100.

Anyone interested please post below and I will take things further...

Interested in principle, and I wouldn't need a hotel. Maybe one or two sons as well.

I am very  interested.   Thank you.

Middle of the month works best for me.

(AS an organiser of other events I realise that what you want is people to stop after the above. However if you would consider tweaking.   I'd be happy to come up Friday night, play twice on Saturday and then head south after lunch on Sunday.)

More than happy to tweak, Tony; all I'm doing at this stage is establishing interest.

Saturday morning is a no-no at Reddish Vale, unfortunately - play is strictly confined to the members' weekly comp. I suspect that the same situation pertains at all other local clubs. This was my reason for the Saturday pm start. I'm also concious that Saturday morning is a good time for travelling - better than Friday evening, anyway!

All other suggestions welcome.

Duncan,

I'd be very keen to see Reddish Vale and I'm not likely to turn down a chance at Cavendish, so I'm certainly interested. However, I'm trying not to have too many nights away golfing this year, so it may be that I just join you for a round at Reddish and a few drinks after before heading home.

Thanks for organising!

Cheers,

James

Duncan,

We have not set our travel dates yet for 2012. If I'm in England during your dates I would be interested... assuming, of course, that I can share I ride with Mr. Muldoon!  ;D

I'll be in England a fair amount over the next and would be very interested once the particulars become clearer and planets align etc..

Michael & Chris,

Thanks for your interest - keep me up to date with your travel plans as they solidify and I'll try to arrange this to co-incide if possible.

Same goes for anyone else flying in to the UK in late spring. I'm flexible on specific dates at this very early stage...
