The dress code of some Hickory players is IMHO far less colourful that some of the attire we see some of my cousins from over the pond wearing when the play in my homeland. No names but a certain Dentist has been known to, let’s just say he has a tendency to require that the camera lens be fitted with a dark filter to tone down the colours, right Anthony!!
Dressing up for Hickory is part of the attraction for some, like travelling on the Orient Express; it just lifts the mood and relaxes the participants allowing for more enjoyment for both players and spectators.
Not will to join in by dressing for the occasion seem not to be the golfer way, but then we have players and golfers.
