Must be taken from the cart path approach view. ;) David, what's up with that? ;) No way to directly walk to #4 green, so I thought of the trail steps there, but the bunkering is wrong, so I missed on that.

#12 is familiar but I can't place it. The only state that fits is Michigan.
# 21 looks like Toronto skyline in the background

No one has identified #12 yet?  There are so many people who talk about the course here ...

The only unidentified one I recognized right away was from Hamilton GC (Ancaster).  The bunkers are a bit different from twenty years ago, but I'm pretty sure that's the right place.

I had to satellite view Crystal Downs, which I played years ago on my first "GCA" trip, and # 12 is the 4th hole.

I'll help fill in the blanks on a few Canadian entries -

#21 is the 1st tee at the Walter Travis gem Lookout Point in Fonthill.  That indeed is the Toronto skyline in the background.  Mark, you were less than 20 minutes away and didn't call?!

#25 is the downhill tee shot into the valley holes at Glen Abbey - 11th tee

#31 is the par four 12th hole at Hamilton (3rd hole of the South nine)

#42 is the par three 3rd tee shot at Deerhurst Resort (McBroom)

Matt,

Sorry, I was in and out, on my way to catch a flight in Buffalo.  Though, I think you may need to check your geography, especially since you are local(ish)... I'm fairly certain that is Niagara Falls' skyline in the distance.

You're right on all your guesses, by the way.  Nicely done.

Also, have you played the other nearby Travis, Cherry Hill?  I know very little about it and don't know anyone who has played it.  If it is anything near as good as Lookout, it is on my priority list for 2012 (as is playing with you in St Kitts... sorry we didn't make that happen this year).

Ha - I guess I should have looked closer at that particular photo.  Yes, that is the Skylon Tower in the background (Niagara Falls), not the CN Tower.  That said, on a clear day, you can see all the way to Toronto from the 1st and 10th tees at Lookout.

Cherry Hill is very solid - pretty flat but great greens.  Ian Andrew did a bunker restoration there a couple years ago and I haven't seen it since but I hear the work was excellent.  It's worth the two hour trip from Toronto.

I thought it was a GCA requirement to call you on the way through. At least you bought me a beer when I did:)
