Ah, yes...my bad. They could be doppelgangers for one another (from this angle anyway ;D).

You're dead to me

I think we're headed for a lock-in at The Red Lion next month.

Ted, I was incorrect in labeling that as Brian. It is actually Nick!

I'm changing my answer to Mike's earlier question. As much as I enjoyed the cart race and late night shenanigans on Thursday, I somehow overlooked all the fun we had earlier that evening at the putting contest, which Dave Herrick ended up winning in a playoff. No question in my mind THAT evening, with the breeze blowing and comfortable temps just before sunset, the double Bombay Sapphires (thanks Cliff!) flowing...it was the ideal activity for such an occasion. Great time. I didn't take any pics but I did have one of the staffers to film the contest, so I'll get that up on YouTube eventually.

Here are a few photos from Day 2.

The 2012 5th Major crew

Barry Watts playing to one of the sideboards at the 10th with JohnLyon in the background.

Brandon Urban (Burbun) pitching on to the 10th green with not one, but two (?) flags...

...hold on, make that THREE flags!

Chris Shaida and Doc Wellmon

Mr. Sheehy and JohnLyon

Bogey, Bob Sullivan and Scott Seiler

The Daddy Mac

The Patrons await the playoff to begin at the 6th.

And here they come!

The five flight winners playing off are:

Tyler Kearns and Matt Bosela
Brent Carlson and Greg Krueger
Joe Fairey and Mike Whitaker
Barry Watts and Brandon Urban
Victor Santodomingo and Rich Choi

Eliminated at the 6th: Brandon and Barry

Sweet swinging Joe Fairey at the 7th with CJ looking on.

Matt Bosela swings away while Rich Choi contemplates his next shot...

Then fires...

Mr. Sheehy can barely stand the drama!!

Tyler Kearns sends one sailing towards the green.

The prototypical choir boys: Messrs Spivey, Sheehy and Lyon.

The Most Interesting Man in the World (Chris DeNigris) alongside his playing partner Mike Hamilton.

TK

Matt Bosela for birdie.

Eliminated at the 7th: Rich and Victor. 3 teams remain. We head to 8.

Brent assesses his options on the hill above the green.

The tension is mounting!

Matt playing his second.

And now, Sir Michael...

Greg digging deep.

Eliminated at the 8th: Mike and Joe. Two teams remain.

Brent makes his birdie to win!

I am shocked that Fairey and Bosela made the shoot out! I thought talent had nothing to do with the fifth major!

Eric - Too many pictures of the winners.  Golden Rule of Member-Guests - nobody cares who won except the winners. ;)

Brian Sheehy looks exactly like the lead singer of the Smashing Pumpkins.

3.  Best image - driving into Dismal at night and seeing the clubhouse and cottages lit up on top of the hill about a mile out - gorgeous.  Best story - My partner (a 9 handicap) shot 34 against a team in our flight.  They joked that he was a sandbagger, to which my partner indicated that he only plays well when it doesn't matter and he threw them his putter headcover, reading "Fragile".... we were in last place in our flight at the time.

Hey sandbagger, I believe you also shot 34 in that round, did you not? :)  Dave and I figured out that we lost 2, 3, 4 in our first match; 1, 2, 3 in our third match; then 4, 5, 6 (our first three holes) in that fourth match with you two.  Every one with birdies (most of them gross)  Seemed we were always behind the eight ball less than an hour into our front nine matches!

It was fun being in a match where every hole was won by a natural birdie or eagle, even though we were on the losing end of it.  The only thing that would have made it better would be for Aaron to have got that ace on the last hole.  Would have been a fitting end to the beating you two put on us!

Doug - I did shoot 34 on the front.  I also shot 35 on the back that day.  Played well, but my handicap is a 4 so good rounds are expected from time to time ..... helped that I was not playing for anything on the last day after our last place performance on Friday.  You  and Dave were very fun to play with.  Thank you for a great memory.  Great putt on #1 for that birdie.

Hey Brett. I saw Mr. Sheehy wearing shorts on Thursday, but yes he was the lone bloke in pants as far as I could tell.

Also, Rob Rigg will be happy to know that the entire event was a friggin non stop TRUE LINKSWEAR commercial! 8)

In my experience, the GCA events I've been to have never been all that much focused on fashion! Speaking of which, man you should've seen the barbed-wire patterned shorts this one dork was wearing on Friday.

Funny, I don't remember the windmill being there when I took that photo ;)  But I do like it.  Make it happen CJ!

Cory:

If Chris was as good as C.B. Macdonald, you would be getting a bill for a windmill in the mail shortly.

However, I'd rather have a bridge for #10, if anyone is in the giving mood.

Thanks for offering to put a bridge in that area.  You are a most generous man.

I'd prefer something like the bridge at Rock Creek in the midst of the hole stretch of The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.
