Lahinch's New Website
« on: October 15, 2011, 03:28:20 PM »
Hi All,

We have recently refreshed the website - added quite a good course tour as well as some interesting historical insights.

Would be interested to hear any feedback:

Patrick, I love Lahinch no matter the website, but one thing that is very frustrating to me is the top banner. On most websites, when you click on the top banner it brings you back to the home webpage. Yours brings you to golf magazines rankings page. I would personally change that.

Also, when you click on "the courses" button, it takes you to a page where there is no navigation buttons across the top (photo gallery).

Otherwise the little I was able to see looks good!

It might just be me, but the hole numbers at the bottom of the course tour do not work in Firefox browser. As a result, you cannot move from one hole to the next.

They work just fine in Internet Explorer. I'll keep refreshing and report back.

Patrick, The web site is great. I had the opportunity to play with some Lahinch members in the Carr Mara played at Portmarnock a few years ago. Your members and team very gracious and a pleasure to compete with.

Ronald, it is not just you. I had the same problem, but only with older versions of firefox. If you update your browser it will work, but the site should work on all platforms.

Great images!

Design needs a tweaking--"The Course" link is a dead end, "Photo Gallery" is a dead end, your nice menu bar with drop downs is missing on both.

Logo at the top needs to be sharper or bigger, looks bad on a site with superior photography.

As previously stated, header image should go back home, not to a best of list--create a new link for that.

Your images make me want to go there  :D

Images are fantastic. Took me a while to figure out how to make the hole by holes pictures into full screen, so try to make it more obvious. As mentioned above when you do see them they make you reach for your frequent flier account.

I agree that the logo needs a more refined look on the site with such outstanding photography.

It is a touch slow loading, but understandable based on what is being loaded.

Frank...I'm using v. 7.0.1 and it doesn't work...is there a newer version of Firefox?

I think that the hole-by-hole tour has too much going on. You have the background image of the hole that is blocked by two linear rectangles and a photo square...it all seems out of proportion and makes me wonder why so much has to be going on. I would relocate the CGI rectangle to the left perimeter and bump the hole description up against it, then move the photo square farther right, to grant more access to the large, background photo.

Great site. Playing on Friday at 10:30. Can't wait!
