Robert,

Is it Gardiners Bay GC or  Shelter Island   on eastern  Long Isalnd, NY.  Nice looking  terrain.

RMD,

If it is Gardiner's Bay CC, their website indicates they don't know who designed the course; how did you come up with Raynor? Are there the usual mix of template holes?

The front nine is by an unknown architect that probably was touched up by Raynor in 1915. The back nine has Raynor templates .  The scorecard lists Raynor as the architect

RMD,

Would you have any more pictures to share?

Thanks, Ron

Robert,

I have not been there for years, but my impression was that William Mitchell put his stamp on top of Raynor at Gardiner's Bay similar to Southampton before their renovation.

This is the 17th which was once a Biarritz, that probably had the green flattened slightly and obviously the dip filled in.  Interestingly, the grass is a slightly different color in the filled in area which proabably occurred 50 years ago
