Mark and all, I wish I would have run into you.  I was a little late because of traffic on Rt. 73/90.  But I did meet Ben V and a fella from NY.  We walked every hole but not in sequence though very close to it.  We had a great conversation and a pleasant walk.  Three elements of the course that were striking to me as a first time on course observer were 1) the elevation changes throughout the course, 2) the scale of the holes within their own pine-lined canyons, and 3) the dramatic rolls within a few of the fairways.  Great weekend.  Thanks guys.

 >: :D ;)

Had a nice  chat with Ed Getka by phone on his way home to NC.   He will  no doubt embellish but relayed how much he enjoyed the course and remarked how the flow and quality of all the holes stood out. I couldn't agree more!

It was nice to see many of you yesterday at PV.

The threat of cruddy weather, and it being a bit cool, probably kept the crowds down slightly.  I love walking the course in reverse.  It really gives you the opportunity to study a hole.

Of particular attention to me yesterday was:

1.  The pin position on the 3rd.  I guess you could call it back middle.  Wonderful spot.

2.  The 2nd green.  Even after the nip and tuck work this past season, it is still wonderful.  I saw an old hole cut up near front middle, which I don't think was pinable before the work.

Thanks to all for a fantastic weekend, especially Joe, Powell and Rich for arranging/hosting.

My first visit to PV left me with the following immediate impressions:

1. I loved 12 and 13 and that might have been my favorite two hole stretch on the course.
2. I cannot believe how visually intimidating all 4 par 3's are in person.
3. Straight cut, 70 yard wide fairways can have tons of strategic options.

Thanks again and I am already looking forward to next year!
