Which golf courses look like they could be in Lord of the Rings?

In honor of Bilbo and Frodo's birthday (9/22) what courses are from Lord of the Rings?

Mordor is Troon North, and the Emyn Muil is Black Mesa, but I'm having trouble with the others?

Would Gondor be Banff Springs maybe? Or at least Minas Tirith?  What about The Shire?  Rivendell?  Mirkwood might be some tree lines course in the deep woods?

Pac Dunes could be the Grey Havens - the seaport of the elves...

Any ideas?

That looks more like the ruined city of Osgiliath or maybe the destrustion of Arnor.

Painswick.  Not only are there the remains and visible outline of an Iron Age fort, there is a beacon above the 6th tee, where the locals set signal fires as in Lord of the Rings.   There's definitely a fantasy element to Painswick.  A visit and round at Painswick is mandatory for would be quirkmeisters.

The Dead Marshes is either Deering Bay or maybe Man O'War? Or maybe Marsh Harbour.
What would Painswick be?

My wife already thinks that I am a geek for my love of golf course architecture.

Let's hope she does not get wind of this string.  It would kill any chances of me getting any for some time in the future.

That being said, great pictures above.  Definitely has Lord of the Rings vibe to it.

JC - just to say, Tolkien considered the decade long process of writing and the final work as "sub creation" - the ongoing activity and product of the causative creative principle of the universe.  (I wish I had his faith.) I suppose we could extend his belief in the significance of the written word into the world of golf courses and golf course architecture.  Yes, beard-pulling it is; but then again, what isn't?  But anyway, please make more jokes at Eric's expense; I always get a kick out them them.

Isengard we need something in a circle of rock.

Rohan needs to be somewhere horses roam and that has brown grasses.

The Shire needs to be green and hilly and really pastoral.

Rivendell would need a waterfall because there was a waterfall and a river near there...

Stoneforest is pretty cool land. As Bill said Painswick is for sure. Any course in Glostureshire could be the shire.
