The Reverse Old Course - The Routing

Obviously, this should have been the first item posted when this mini-series began, but at the time, I was still trying to solve the puzzle that the Reverse Routing represents. How does this damn thing work?

I was thinking about this today and came to same conclusion about it getting really messy!  Your solution is good and interesting, but with the obvious drawback of a fair bit of walking between green and tee.  But I haven't thought of anything better.
