Man, was that fun! Stanford ran away with the tournament, finishing +9, while Ok St was second at +20. Walker Cupper Patrick Rodgers won individual honors. Regardless, it was a blast watching terrific golfers challenge the course, and deal with the architecture. On the North Course, the hazards essentially run perpendicular to lines of play, and, aggressive as these kids are, they will challenge them to get in position to make birdies. Often, that wasn't not such a good idea, but watching them try to get out of trouble was also fun (for me, if not them). These events are really celebrations of golf, and I urge all of you to attend an amateur event when the opportunity arises. It is the best way to watch golf, walking down the fairway with the players, coaches, and families. We got the chance to watch Rickie Fowler play 6 rounds at OFCC a few years ago (his dad was a riot), Peter U for 12 rounds over the last years, and many others. I also got the chance to drive Az St to the airport this year, and that was great too (Tim Mickelson is the coach).
