Joe,
This will be my first time up for the Crump Cup. I presume there will be multiple buses taking spectators to the course. Is there a time and place where we are planning to meet up?

I think we should meet outside PVs main entrance, by the guard house, before 1 PM.  Say 12:45.  Hence, getting to the Clementon amusement parking lot by 12:30 PM should do the job.  It is a quick ride on a school bus over to the gates.

What???  You guys aren't taking the train?     ;D

I wish I could join but a family obligation will have me out of town.

It's an amazing place and I know you'll all enjoy yourselves.

Last year on the Sunday of the Crump Cup I was heading down to the Shore with my bride on that train line.  Crappy ole train broke down right alongside the course.  How lucky I was to be able to watch the entire championship match from the window.  That Tilly fellow always wrote the truth apparently.

I just wanted to say thank you quickly for all your work to arrange the Crump Cup weekend.  This is going to be a blast and I am looking forward to meeting a few GCAers!

The authors of the wonderful Flynn book, "The Nature Faker", will not be able to make it on Saturday.  But I'll bring along my iPad to show you how nice the book is, and I'll have copies of the DVD for purchase.  If you don't have it in your collection, I would seriously consider doing so!

It should be a great weekend.  I'm looking forward to meeting some more GCA'ers after my hiatus the last couple of years.

Philly Cricket will be a blast.  I love that golf course!

(I've been mostly off the golf grid since our trip to Dismal and Sand Hills in June - studying for and taking the CISSP certification exam, a 250 question purgatory that tests your knowledge of IT security practices.  Thankfully, I passed, and I'm beginning to recover :) )

Unfortuately the weather forecast has changed my plans given the 8 hour drive. Hopefully you guys get some decent weather and I'll try again next year.

Given the recent rain and what is forecast this weekend how do you think PV will play? I feel like my first time seeing the course I would really like to see the course showing all its teeth. I would really like to see how top-flight golfers interface with the course's defenses. On a 1-10 scale for those who know the course how tough will the course play compared to when it is in an ideal condition?

Ed,
From what I've seen at the Crump Cup, any conditions are tough.  It's a wonderful event, where you have almost full reign of the course and can watch the matches up close.  I think my favorite spots to watch are on the 5th tee and the 14th tee.  Approach shots to 18 (if the match gets that far) are also great to watch.

Right now as I head out the door for Cricket the weather is sunny and nice.  Crossing my fingers.

Gosh did we get lucky and ended up having a wonderful day for golf at Cricket.

If you are going at the Crump Cup tomorrow, let's plan on meeting near the guard gate at 12:45 PM.
