Born in 1905, he is unlikely still to be alive. Does anyone know if and when he died?

I've been waiting years for someone to ask me this: He died on November 26, 1981, age 73

btw: His name is spelled Seiichi Inoue and he was born in 1908, or maybe not.

Thanks John and Kalen. I'm involved in a book project and I find there is a lot of contradictory information on the internet and in reference books. It's a nightmare checking facts!

I've also seen it spelled Inouye.  Not sure there is a correct way, since in reality his name is in Japanese symbols.

Given the link above, the best guess on that would be he learned it from Alison while Alison worked in Japan.

Inoue chose to become a golf architect after observing Alison at Tokyo GC and Kasumigaseki GC. He began as an associate to Kinya Fujita before going out on his own. I believe his two most prominent designs are Takanodai and Ibaraki-West.
