Arrowhead Golf Course happens to be located in one of the more beautiful places on earth (that isn't on an ocean). That the course is, to my taste, not up to the view doesn't diminish the visual impact.

This from the work of Aidan Bradley (http://www.golfcoursephotography.com/home.asp).

Dornoch in May - any number of spots have great views.
Cruden Bay and Royal County Down rate about the same

Maybe not the "best" view in golf, but one of the most unique views is standing to the left side of the 4th green of the Ocean Course at the Olympic Club in San Francisco. From that spot, you can see 5 golf courses - the Ocean, the Lake, San Francisco GC, Lake Merced CC and Harding Park.

Sorry no picture, but to me the best would from the high ground at Dooks looking out over Dingle Bay at Inch, the greatest undeveloped golf course site in the world.

The Himalayan Golf Club at Pokhara.
Lincoln Park and the Golden Gate Bridge.
My view point is the 14th tee at Pacific Dunes.

The panoramic view of the ocean, Pacific Dunes, and Old Mac as you reach the apex of the 3rd fairway at Old Mac is like the hot stripper dropping her clothes to the floor.
It's all about the golf!

Tim, wouldn't agree its the best view in golf, but loving links golf couldn't agree more that Inch Beach penninsula is one the the best potential sites for a golf course on the planet. Never actually walked on the site but as I drove down the south side of Dingle penninsula when I saw it my jaw dropped and thought a golf course must be built there. Talked to plenty of locals at the pubs in Killorgin and they say thousands have suggested and even tried to initiate, but the councils won't have a bar of it.

My photo wasn't taken on the best day but looking over the bay you can only wonder of the possibility....

The view from the railroad tracks of the land on which Pine Valley sits.   Seriously - there are some amazing views, and my favorite is looking up the 2nd fairway.

I like the SF muni's making the list.  Goes to show you courses with million dollar views can be had for under $40 bucks.

How has there only been 2-3 pictures posted so far??? All submissions should require an accompanying photo.

Now Garland, have you put on that much weight in one month?   :D

As for the best view in golf - picture 16 tee under the lone fir this evening at Chambers Bay:

- Fire red sunset over the Puget Sound
- The sound of waves lapping the shore
- Olympic mountains snow capped in the distance
- The golden color of fescue at dusk
- Tacoma Narrows bridge behind
- Yellow Sante Fe train passing by
- Full moon rising on the east side
- And, locals going for a jog on a warm evening  ;)

That was pretty special

In future discussions, let's just call this hole "Peconic".  It's iconic.

so many great places posted here, and of the ones I have seen, an argument could be made for any of them,

But I could care less what people say, the view from the #12 tee box "Courcean Stage" at Old Head is the most awesome view anywhere.  I won't/can't (today) post a picture, it wouldn't do it justice.  Hit one from the back tees, I promise you will never ever forget it.  I'm not sure how something could be more awesome.

Now favorites -

top 5 that come to mind:

1. #4 RCD
2. 17/18 St. Andrew's
3. leaving town overlooking Royal Portrush
4. #12 Augusta
5. walking to #3 tee box Royal Dornoch

Here's another Bay Area muni with a view. From the 15th tee at Lake Chabot on a clear day you can see both the Bay Bridge and the Golden Gate. It is spectacular, but the only picture I could find online is only ok.

I love golf, the fightin irish, and beautiful women depending on the season and availability.

The bridge at Friars Head is pretty tough to beat.

Behind #13 green at LACC has its moments too.

Behind 13 green at LACC...took me a minute to figure this one out. haha.  Good call.  Unfortunately the grotto is not in full view!
