ONe of my persnal favorites is the Transfusion which is very popular at most clubs in the Philly area. Enough with the teasers. Does anyone have any recipes for the following to share?

Cypress Point - "Sam"
The Golf Club - "Moscow Mule"
The Country Club - "Fernando" and the latest addition, "Tina Ria"
Crystal Downs - "Sleepy Bear"
Merion - "Mug" and "Pine Valley"
Atlantic City - "Bloody Mary"
Whisper Rock - "Chocolate Shake"

Rob,

A "Moscow Mule" is essentially Ginger Beer and Vodka with a little lime. I don't know about The Golf Club but it's usually served out of a copper cup.

Is there no limit to what you people will steal?  Let the clubs have their drinks.  In what possible situation would you serve a drink telling your guests that this is what they could have if they were as connected as you?  This thread is all so much Sex in the City, do men actually discuss how to make fruity drinks?

Maybe you are just bitter because you have no access to fresh pomegranate.

After listening to Harry Reed whine about his pomegranate tree it is one fruit I will do without.

It is somewhat ironic that Beverly CC, located on the South Side of Chicago for over 100 years, does not pour the Southside.  I'm guessing that those Long Island clubs do so because they are located on the South Side of Long Island, but that's a bit of a geographical guess on my part.

The irony about Beverly not pouring that concoction is that the club probably has a dozen cocktails named after members.  The most common is the McFloody, named for Mike Floodstrand and Craig McDonnell, which has vodka, orange juice and ginger ale, if memory serves.  There's also a Mango McFloody, which substitutes mango juice for the orange.  The Coates special has vodka, grape juice and lemonade.  There's also a T-Breeze which is a variety of a Sea Breeze cocktail which is particularly tantalizing on a hot summer day, just ask me.  In any event I aim to correct the absence of the Southside on the South Side.  But I'm using vodka, thank you very much!

Merion - "Pine Valley"

Blukk.

I'll drink about anything, but this particular concoction tastes horrible.

If pressed to create one from scratch, I'd go with:

sour mix
lighter fluid
dash of lawn clippings
ice

Stir and die.

It wasn't a Signature Cocktail...

..But the best Long Island I've ever had was easily the one at MPCC.

Ironic once again given its west coast location  ;)

Moscow Mule

I believe it is a mix of ginger beer, lime juice and vodka.

At Sea Island, I enjoyed a few glasses of "front-porch lemonade" this spring:

2 parts Jack Daniel's whiskey
1 part Mr. & Mrs. T Sweet & Sour Mix
1 part simple syrup
3 lemon wedges (squeezed)

Golf Digest had a nice write-up on Sea Island's Oak Room: http://www.golfdigest.com/golf-courses/2009-04/19thhole

and an accompanying video on how to make the elixir: http://www.golfdigest.com/golf-courses/golf-travel/2009-04/19thhole_seaisland

I had our bartender make me a bootlegger after Sunday's round, thanks for the tip.  It's a great summer drink.

North Oaks makes their lemonade with Sprite, or at least used to in the 80s.  Reading this thread makes me wonder if it is a virgin bootlegger with no mint?

Caddying as a kid we had great familiarity with what was possible for soft drinks.  Some favorites:

  • Orange juice and ginger ale (called a Florida Special)
  • Orange juice and Sprite (Florida's cousin, christened the California Special
  • Grape juice and ginger ale (Transfusion)
  • Mountain Dew & grenadine

Chocolate milk was a personal fave, and I loved filling the cup with popcorn when I was done with the drink.  Popcorn obviously would get a little soggy, but I loved it.

I've always preferred the "Knockout Special"

2 Parts 151
1 Part Coke

Drink, enjoy, repeat!

The Sam's Special at CPC packs a punch but it's pretty sweet.

Two of my favs:
Pumpkin Ridge: Grape Cooler - Vodka & Welch's Grape Juice w/splash of 7 Up or sprite.  Very refreshing and there's alot of vodka in it!
Bent Tree CC: Cesarita - The bartender Cesar makes the best margarita in town.
Cal Club and Olympic both make a killer vodka/lemonade too but I wouldn't call them a Signature Club Cocktail.

I get it, you are mad at the world because you are an adult caddie and few people take you seriously.

Excellent spellers usually lack any vision or common sense.

I know plenty of courses that are in the red, and they are killing it.

I drank one after the round and the night before at dinner.  JT had two after the round and his lips went numb on the way to Hidden Creek!

I don't know if it's the signature drink but the first Shanty I ever had was at Chevy Chase and it's the best immediate thirst-quencher after a hot and humid round.

I'm fairly certain that the Creek Tea at Chechessee is the first "club drink" that I've allowed to bleed over into my daily life.  Eight of us have been on the same week long trip to CCC on two different occasions. While we love the course, and I mean we LOVE that course, the Creek Tea is as important a reason for most of us to return as any.  I would say that six of us now drink at least one per week since our introduction.
