And many say there is nothing wrong with the modern game of Golf – so why do we have to clone not one or two holes but a whole golf course.

Sorry but where is the imagination that makes Golf great, that brings the challenge home to the Golfer. As a copy, clone or whatever, the course may look like St Andrews but the climate, environmental and Green Keeping will be different, it will be like producing an alien beast which will not even turn out to be a good facsimile copy.

I know that there is talent out there capable of producing a great course, so please instead of CHEAP COPIES give the right site to a good designer and support his ideas to the hilt – it will make far more commercial sense not to mention a blood good golf course suitable to the needs of the environment it will be built upon and so please the local golfers.

Anyway how do you beat perfection produced by the hands of Old Tom Morris

Wow.

If in fact this project does see the light of day, I wonder who will design it?

If it is an exact copy, does it need an architect?!   ;)
