Return of the Hillbillly Tour - Sultan's Run
« on: August 03, 2011, 02:32:50 PM »
Since Barney's gone Hollywood I thought I'd gauge interest in a round at Tim Liddy's Sultan's Run on the 13th or 20th of this month assuming tee time could be procured.  A hit-and-run for yours truly given 3 hours each way.

Interest?

Possible.  I played SR two or three years ago with Dale McCallon and was a bit underwhelmed (by the course, not Dale).  If timing works would be interested in giving it another try.

If you could get there early enough, a trip to Ellis Park for some fine quality horse racing on the way home is recommended.  Might mean a really early start from Franklin, though.

Funny that didn't keep you from jumping on the Dunes Club invitation.  I had no idea it was that much cooler in New Buffalo this time of year.  I can handle the truth, Barney - you're upwardly mobile.

I think Mayhugh may have so in awe of playing partner he had trouble soaking up the course.

I might be able to play on the 20th, but I can't be sure.  I wouldn't really think of SR as a course I would drive 3hours each way for, but if I could meet up with some of you guys I would make the drive up if available.

An easy 36 is Sultan's and French Lick Ross. 25 miles apart.

Oh man. If I still lived in the area, I would lobby for 18 at SR, 9 (races that is) at Ellis Park, then dinner at the Como.   ;D

Normally, I'd be very interested in this. But with a child being born any day now, I'm probably limited in my golfing adventures for a while. Especially those that require travel outside of Cincinnati proper.
