Not to pick on anyone in particular, but it's fairly ironic that Sven started this thread to prove that many guys play regular local tracks and it's rather unsurprisingly turned, for the most part, into something else.

Selection bias may be at work here.

True ... but also entirely predictable from this group.

I can't really think back past my last trip:

Medinah #1 [in the grand opening]
Traigh
Isle of Harris
Askernish
The Renaissance Club

Tom, you mentioned you'd been to Traigh, but I forgot to ask what you thought about it? High on my list of places to play - I've seen it from the train a couple of times but not set foot on it.

Scarista (Isle of Harris) is a very, very beautiful place on a nice day.

I posted my last ten courses played, not my last ten rounds.  All of my last ten rounds are "local," though probably not on what you and Sven would consider "regular local tracks":  Bethesda CC (x 8), Burning Tree (1), Four Streams (1).

Well, I'm going to blow this premise out of the water.  My last ten:

The Renaissance Club (Sunday)
North Berwick West Links (Friday)
Crystal Downs (previous Sunday, and three other times this year)
Royal Melbourne (in July)
Country Club of Detroit (grand re-opening in June)
North Shore CC (grand re-opening in May)
Augusta National (with a client in January)
Lost Farm (grand opening last December)
Barnbougle Dunes
St. Andrews Beach

Seems you got the ball rolling early for "this group."  :)

If it's the last ten different courses I'm not sure I can remember that far back with any accuracy. If it's the last ten rounds that's easy: My club, my club, my club, my club, my club, my club, my club, my club, my club, my club. Was that 10? I can keep going for a while if necessary.

Let's see, working backwards through 2014...

1) Columbia Country Club (my home course)
2) Oak Hills Golf Club (local public)
3) Cobblestone Park (local semi-private)
4) Plantation Course at Edisto Beach (nearby resort course)

Now we're back in 2013...

5) Charwood Golf Club (local public)
6) Royal Cinque Ports (Deal)
7) Princes Golf Club (Sandwich)
8) Royal St. Georges (Sandwich)
9) Wilmslow Golf Club (Wilmslow)

And now I'm stuck. Not sure what the 10th-most-recent course would be. That would likely be some time in 2012. Could be any one of a dozen possibilities. The nine I've listed cover 18-24 months and 200+ rounds which is far as my memory can reach.

Yes but my club changed service bureaus in 2013 so no records extant from 2012 and earlier.

I'd guess that since moving to New Mexico I play maybe 10% of my rounds in-state. If I play any local course more than once in a year it is rather unusual. This year I've played 46 courses, and the only one in NM was a 9 hole executive course.

Jud...

It seems like Sven wanted us to post the last ten courses we've played; the good, bad, and ugly.  Some may cherry pick the times they post to, essentially, brag about where they've played.  But, I just periodically post my last ten courses played...regardless of whether they are brag worthy or not.  I was under the impression that was the idea behind the thread.

You're both wrong.

The initial point was meant to verify my assumption that the folks around here mostly play high end (or at least highly regarded) courses.  I didn't intend for this to be an ongoing journal of self-aggrandizement, but its took on a life of its own somewhere along the line, which is fine by me.

I prefer to discuss golf in the abstract, and I don't really care where folks are playing unless its something I haven't heard of or they take the time to use a particular course as a bridge to a broader conversation (there's been a good bit of that on here as of late).  I also don't really care how you scored, as it seems to cross the line from a thread that has the potential to highlight a hidden gem to one that is just about patting yourself on the back.

But as I said, its not my thread and everyone can do with it what they like.

I do have to give props to one of the posters on this thread who had the humility to wait at least ten courses after a round that most of us would have rented out the Jumbotron to tell the world about.

Thanks for chiming in Sven. This is very much your thread and it's been interesting regardless of each participant's motives.
Most of my golf is work related (I'm very fortunate in this regard), so I thought I'd break it down as such:
