Absolutely nothing worth mentioning  :P

That's why this thread is interesting!  Out with it!  :)

If you insist...

Park Hill
West Woods
Heritage at Westmoor
Indian Tree
Fossil Trace
Hyland Hills
Riverdale Dunes
Willis Case
Wellshire
Legacy Ridge

I guess it's not THAT bad.

If it's golf it's good and worth mentioning (just my opinion).

Battenkill
Saratoga Spa Executive Course
Orchard Creek
Edison Club
Wykagyl
Saratoga National
Hotchkiss School
Rip Van Winkle
The Presidio
Ondawa Greens

My 7yo says to me Saturday, on the way to 18 at the Spa par-3,."Dad, I've only played 2 courses, Battenkill and that course in Connecticut.  I want  to play more.  Can we play Saratoga Lake next?"  :-).  You gotta love it when a plan comes together.

I'm making the market on the unofficial Preserve rating 7/8...   ;)

Jud:  The Doak scale does not deal in fractions.

If you were talking 7 OR 8 on the Doak scale, I've never seen a par-3 course that could rate that highly, and I really can't imagine one that would.

Just another piece of evidence why I do not trust "market makers" in the slightest.

How about at least a courtesy smiley face!  OK, new info, new market- 6/7.

I have included my last 11 since one was technically not an actual full round as noted.  All over the place not only in level of courses but in geographical location as well...

Haualalai (Nicklaus) - HI
RTJ Trail - Grand National (Links) - AL
Seabrook Island (Oaks) - SC
Las Lomas De La Dehesa GC - Santiago, Chile
Buenos Aires GC - Argentina
The River Club - GA
Commonwealth National - PA*
Reading CC - PA
Berkleigh CC - PA
French Creek - PA
Golden Oaks - PA

*Not officially a full round played, it was a washout.  Mostly just a drive around/walk the course, but deserves mentioning.

A few interesting looking courses - especially Wannamoisett.  Do you (or anybody) have pix?  Ever since the Unofficial GCA Rankings came out this course has seriously intrigued me - along with Hamilton and Royal Zoute.  I have seen photo tours of these two since the ranking came out and they still intrigue me, but to date it seems to be mums the word on Wanna.

Jud-
Liked the whole place a lot.  I grew up in New England and went to college in New Hampshire, but don't live there anymore or get back as often as I'd like, so part of the allure was spending a long weekend at such a New England-y place.  As for the course itself, the greens are amazing -- they don't have many internal contours, but Ross really used the natural slopes of the land to make them really challenging and deceptive.  The rest of the course is good but not great -- it's pretty short, and a few holes are a bit narrow, though a couple of the par 3's are all-world.  But even where the holes are less interesting, you are constantly thinking about where you want/need to be because of the greens.

The food is all-world.

Correct ! Palmer Course is severely overgrown and plenty of Real Estate.  I am involved in event for Central NJ Boy Scouts and the Palmer is low cost.   Not many purists in the event.

Banks course is worthwhile.

Trying to get back to Kittansett this summer, have not played in several years.  A new thread just started about it.

One of Wm Flynns best, full of character.

i have no photos of Wannamoisett.   i should, if i could find someone to stand behind me and snap a pix though.  i have two 8x10 pictures in my home 'office' here of me playing.  one is hitting a tee shot at Olympic on 18, the other on the 15th at Mauna Lani South.

if anyone is adventurous and looking to have some fun tournament golf and see fall in new england, here is an idea.

in october the Tour of Greater Boston is having an event a Wannamoisett on Oct 15th.  i think it's a shotgun (most of their events on private courses are) unfortunately.  but nonetheless you get to play WCC.

then two days after that (oct 17&18) the nepga has something called the New England Series where they run amateur tournaments on a strong roster of private clubs.  these two days feature Belmont and then Nashawtuc.

i don't do the Tour, but do participate at times in the NES.  these guys run great tournaments (actually guy - Jacy Settles).  tee times.  very professional.  and the courses the nepga get is more than impressive.

Original question, Aug. 2, 2011: Stemming from Mac's recent thread, someone made the comment that most of the folks on here generally play average courses.  Might as well take a survey.  What are the last ten courses you played?

Carolina Golf Club (Charlotte, my home course), Ross, 1929 (R Kris Spence)
Grassy Creek Golf & Country Club (Spruce Pine, NC), _______, _______
Mt. Mitchell Golf Club (South Toe Township, Yancey County, NC), Fred W. Hawtree, 1973
Mimosa Hills Golf & Country Club (Morganton, NC), Ross, 1929 (R Kris Spence)
Grove Park Inn Golf Club (Asheville, NC), Ross, 1926 (R Kris Spence)
Old Fort [NC] Golf Course, John Van Kleek, 1961
Rolling Hills Country Club (Monroe, NC), George Cobb, 1963 (R John LeFoy)
Wee Burn Country Club (Darien, CT), Devereux Emmet, 1925 (R Geoffrey Cornish & William Robinson)
Lake Lure Golf Club (a/k/a Lake Lure [NC] Municipal Golf Course), attributed variously to (1) Ross, (2) John R. Van Kleek and (3) Wayne Stiles & Van Kleek, 1927
Cedarwood Country Club (Charlotte), Ellis Maples (1964) (R Kris Spence)

R = remodeled, revised, restored, renovated, and the like.
