18 at Paxon? I wouldn't even pick it as one of the best on the course. 1 is a great one, a true Cape hole with a diagonal tee shot and a green jutting out into space. 5 is also tremendous, as are 8 and 9 (Kyle, you gotta put this one up there). Then 10-13 are an absolute dynamite start to the back nine, and 15 is a very dramatic par three. A favorite? Hmm, 1, 9, 13 and 15 are my final four, but I'd go with 13 for the win (though 1 usually works its way into an eclectic 18--seriously, how many better starting holes can you think of?)
D Malley, I'd love to hear your pick as a fave at Paxon. Does any 5,700 yarder have more standout holes than PH? I doubt it.
As for faves at Rolling Green, there are several: 1 is a great opener with a steep green, and 2 is a grand long par four. Call 7 a par five or a par four, but it is a tremendous hole with a super approach shot. 8, of course, is a beast, with a great decision to be faced off the tee and a killer greensite. 9? Not my favorite, though I appreciate it as a battle of man vs. nature. 10? That's a much better maximum-length hole for the par. 11 is very cool, 13, 14, and 16 are rugged golf at its best. I'd pick 8 out of all of them, though I could say a bunch of different choices here.
Mayday/Moses: why is 15 your favorite at RG? You might have explained it to me while I was there, but I'd like to hear your reasoning again.
