The 16th is also one my favorites. My only complaint with the hole is the (apparently) arbitrary relationship between tree line, land form and actual putting surface of the green complex.

The green is severely pitched (though has no rolls or folds) and looks to have shrunk over the years at least 5 feet around the circumference of the putting surface.

If I were king, the green would be expanded so it tied into the hollow more appropriately.  Visually, I think it would present a better frame.

You are right about the green size at No.16,it has shrunk by at least five feet. I am not sure what tournament it was that was held there, it may have been the '77 PGA, but the powers that be, brought the left hand rough in more than usual, to offset the effects of a drought. This forced players to either fade the ball or keep it close to the bunker on the right, whatever shot was played made the hole infinitely more interesting and harder.
