Good Piece on Ron Forse, Jim Nagle and Bedford
« on: July 19, 2011, 08:29:34 AM »
Attached is a good piece on our good friends Messers. Forse and Nagle and their work at Bedford.  For any of you who have been in the field with Ron and Jim, it is a treat and Ron Whitten does a great job describing the dynamic.  Great praise for the work at Bedford.  Its great to see these guys get the credit they richly deserve.

Nice article, I must say the restoration at Bedford was great, featuring shaping is tremendous and like Ron said, the greens are outstanding.
I kind of wish they would have blown up that volcano hole! Not a perfect course, some funky spots in the routing and a few very forgettable holes stuffed into an otherwise solid course. Price is a little steep for a course in the middle of nowhere though.

Ryan,

As I noted in a previous Bedford Springs thread, there are days when the course can be played at a lower rate- $79:

Nice article.

Ron did a fantastic job with Lawsonia, among others.

Good to see you are coming around Ryan.  Next thing you'll start liking Cobb's Creek more.   ;)

A photo album of Bedford Springs from my 2 day visit in the fall of 2007 is here at Joe Logan's MyPhillyGolf.com web site:

I played Bedford springs this past saturday and, as always, enjoyed my round there.  I will say this about the volcano-the tee boxes are more or less permanently moved up.

I can't decide whether #15 is a good hole or a steaming pile.
