Anyone out there played this course? (Sean Arble -- are you there?) Curious about hole variety and how it plays.

Phil

West Shore is a solid course covering fairly flat terrain.  Nothing outstanding comes to mind, but its an enjoyable place to pass an afternoon if you happen to be in the area.  You are much better off playing Grosse Ile G&CC just off the bridge if there is a choice involved.  Better terrain, and far better greens.  In an informal poll type thing I took of Michiganders and those who know Michigan well Grosse Ile scored surprisingly high (top 15-20 in Michigan).  In any case, its a very under-rated course.

Sean:

Thanks much -- I asked because it was done by an architect (George Perry) I've heard very little about.

West Shore is a fun little course that I've played a lot.  Always well maintained and a nice set of greens.  Take Sean's advice about its neighbor though.  Holes 10-14 at West Shore are a very nice stretch...
I still like Greywalls better.
