11 at Hoylake/ Alps par 3s
« on: July 26, 2011, 11:56:59 PM »
While the original Alps hole is 17 at Prestwick (i think)...Hoylake's #11 shares the name.  I recently played there and while the hole no longer fits the Alps template (the green was moved in the 20s according to those who know these things), the original green site seemed to fit the bill.  Can anyone name some more par 3 Alps holes?

also of note...both green sites play directly into the teeth of the prevailing wind...i've never played Prestwick but does the Alps have a preferred wind?

The 17th at Prestwixk is probably called the Alps because the par 3 5th goes over a higher dune and is the Himalayas.

The 5th at Prestwick is the hole that fits the criteria.
