Great Fall Courses:
I concur with Shivas on the River Course at Blackwolf Run. Played last Oct. when it was a bit cold, but the salmon are extraordinary and the colors are exquisite. Would not rule out the Meadows course either.
Pinehurst No. 2 (obviously!) crowds are virtually non-existent in early November. No. 4 is a treat, too, even at that time of year.
Have been to this place in several years, but Bowling Green in Milton, NJ (semi-private) in the fall is glorious. Underrated layout and inexpensive.
The General, Barnsley Gardens resort, Adairsville, GA. Peaceful, no houses, great collection of par-3s, back nine is incredible. George Fazio design.
Crosswater course at Sunriver Resort in Oregon. Great anytime of the year but gets virtually no play in the Fall. A must! Meadows course is damn good, too, but avoid the Woodlands.
