I found Alyth to be a great  way to recover from the beating of Carnoustie.  Wide fairways but yet proper placement demanded to make your score.  Greens wellkept.  A nice members course but very welcoming.  What is a 3 on the Doak scale of single malts?  please educate the  newbie.
Panmure as Finegan states as 12 great holes and #6 is truly great with Hogan's pot bunker dictating the play of the 2nd.

3 on the logarithmic Doak scale, which I use only under duress and only for non-golf related objects, is about average, which means it's a very, very fine dram, but, as the Scottish schoolmarms say--"could do much better!"

If anyone is wandering about Rich's "washboard" fairways here's an overhead of a hole at Brancepeth Castle which certainly has it!  (Brancepeth Castle looks to be a fine, sporty, Colt layout)
