For the Chicagoans in the crowd, Michael Whitaker and I are planning on getting a small group together for dinner at Twin Anchors on Sunday evening (the 14th).  Let me know if you'd like to join in.

I'm playing in the club championship at Prairie Landing that day, but depending on my tee time, I'd be up for joining you guys.

If anyone is interested in driving North and playing Kingsley while you're in the area (does a 4 hour drive count as in the area?) let me know, I'll be in the TC area for the week. Hopefully Jud and John Kirk are headed that way.

If anyone from the Chicago area wants a ride on the 17th, please let me know. I live north of the city (Winnetka) and can fit a few in my gas-guzzling SUV.

Mr. Kavanaugh, I will be interested in your review of the poker room at the casino, but wondering why you're not at the Four Winds (which is right down the street from the Dunes Club).

The address? Jim you'll need a lot more than that to find the Dunes Club  ;)  One of the all-time great entrances to a golf course.

Mike,

I just found out that I will unfortunately be unable to attend due to my business partner having a family medical issue.  You can take my spot if the judge will have you and there's nobody else on the wait list.  Very sorry I can't make it.  You're all in for a treat...

A couple housekeeping matters.  Josh Lesnik can't make it so Steve Salmen is bringing Andrew Calcutt.  If we're lucky, Mike Young will take Jud's spot.

Here are the best directions I can give.  Coming from Chicago, you get off at the second New Buffalo exit and go to Hwy 12 East.  When you get to the light, turn right and go around a mile.  You'll see Skip's restaurant on your left.  Take a left turn there onto Lake Shore.  Go a block to Marquette and turn left.  You will go about a quarter mile.  The club driveway is just past Timber Rd. on your left.  The address number is on a tree, there is no sign other than 10600 on that tree.  Pull into the driveway and you're all set.  The club phone number is 269-469-5539.

Here's the final foursomes list.  We're going off on three different holes that are pretty close to the clubhouse, so we should breeze around the course.  Unfortunately, there's rain in the forecast, so be prepared.

HOLE 1:
RICK HOLLAND
JOHN KAVANAUGH
BILL SEITZ
JOHN MAYHUGH

HOLE 1:
MARK O'TOOLE
ZACK MOLNAR
MICHAEL WHITAKER
SVEN NILSEN

HOLE 6:
PETER THOMPSON
DAVE GOICH
JOHN KIRK
HOWARD RIEFS

HOLE 6:
CHRIS BLAKELY
RYAN KELLY
SEAN HEENAN
BILL STEELE

HOLE 8:
TERRY LAVIN
MICHAEL GEORGE
AARON LEPP
JIM FRANKLIN

HOLE 8:
STEVE SALMEN
ANDREW CALCUTT
JON HEISE
MIKE YOUNG???

Cheers!

Many thanks to Terry Lavin and the staff at the Dunes Club.  Yesterday was a fine day of golf, food, drink and golf talk with good people.

Thanks again to Terry for setting up the terrific day. You were right, I had a fantastic caddie! I am sorry I had to miss dinner, but I barely made my flight in time and was able to get home to see my dad before his surgery. Next time I hope I can stay and chat. I want to hear more about those 5 guys....

Jim:

I am sorry, but the one and only part of my golf game that was better than yours yesterday was my caddie.  She was phenomenal and certainly better looking than you.

Terry - thank you again.  Got home at 3:00 pm and am a zomby today, but it was well worth it.  It was a great day on a fantastic course.  I will take the Dunes over the fancy country club atmosphere every day of the week.      Jim - great meeting you.  Glad that your dad is doing ok.
