Please vote for your favorite. You have till EOD Sunday. Anyone can vote, not just people who have played the holes. What I do ask of people who have played either of the holes is to advocate strongly (or speak against it) why you believe this hole deserves some love.

Happy voting!

Huntley Division #1, NGLA #4, 190 yards

From Ran - Of all the versions of the oft-copied Redan, this one is supreme thanks to a) its glorious natural location and b) its pitched green whose slope is severe enough to help the ball continue torollwhile at the same time not too severe as to reduce the number ofinteresting hole locations.Interestingly enough, the high to low point on the green is a whopping five feet. In terms of routing, this hole represents a finechange in direction in a relatively straightforward out and back layout.

If Colton is playing this hole right now, he BETTER post a vote on this thread!!! And I want some pictures!!!

Huntley Division, #8 Seed, Mountaintop, Hole #11, 189 yards

And while I'm at it, here's a modern interpretation of the redan at the Tom Fazio designed Mountaintop in Cashiers, NC.  At first I didn't like how subtle the 'kick' short-right of the green is, since this is a clear departure from a traditional redan.  However, as I thought about it more, I realized the hole was likely designed in this manner because of the firm and fast nature of the golf course.  In another thread the question was asked whether fast greens have rendered traditional redans unplayable.  I suppose the answer in modern architecture is to make the kick more subtle.

This one is an easy pick for me.  NGLA all the way.  Love the look of that hole!

I haven't seen the Mountaintop hole but it looks like left and long is dead ? Not very appealing if so.

I think this contest should be down to NGLA v NB. For the sake of this exercise - I vote NGLA.

Left and long is not dead, though it leaves a very difficult recovery. Long and left there is a very deep depression with thick rough, but given the right to left slope of the green, up and down is doable.

I actually really liked the mountaintop hole, but I agree, this probably has to come down to NGLA vs NB.

Was I correct? Is it Bobby? Or is "The Old Man" a reference to Travis?
