We are currently in the midst of debate in Dublin whether the two recently decommissioned big chimneys that stand guard over Dublin Port (and are so much a part of the landscape and will be familiar to those who play Royal Dublin and Portmarnock) will suffer the same fate.... I hope not.... Their demise would act as a suitable analogy for our crumbling economy and we could perhaps do without that...
