A Quickie Report on Baltusrol's Upper Course
« on: June 02, 2011, 10:22:33 PM »
Sorry, no pictures as the caddy had my camera and was way ahead of me all day.

The first five holes still have the toughest greens on the golf course severely sloping away from the mountain from right to left. The new elevated tees on the fifth do provide a nice view of midtown Manhattan.

The ninth hole, a short par four has been redone completely with a small, very uplifted and well bunkered green. Very well improved! A very nice redo.

Everyone agrees that the uphill 14th is probably the most picturesque hole on the entire course these days.

The rest is as it has been... really great and the 18th, par four, perhaps the most challenging of all 36 holes.

We teed off around 11:00 AM on Thursday with perfect weather. and not a single soul was on the upper course. Everyone was packed onto the Lower.
