Please vote for your favorite. You have till EOD Sunday. Anyone can vote, not just people who have played the holes. What I do ask of people who have played either of the holes is to advocate strongly (or speak against it) why you believe this hole deserves some love.

Happy voting!

Mucci Division, #8 Seed, Forsgate (Banks), Hole #7, 217 yards

Redan named after the Turkish fortification at Gallipoli during the Crimean War, the original Redan is the 15th hole at North Berwick in Scotland. The hole honestly lives up to it's name.

This is a battle between two New Jersey Redans, both built by Charles Banks. While I'm not a fan of downhill Redans, I'll vote for Forsgate. The picture does not really show the great depth of the front right bunker, it is probably 10 feet deep, and this threat certainly generates PLENTY of shots ending up in the left bunker, whick leaves a treacherous downhill recovery shot.

I will have to agree with Bill. Even though most of Forsgate has been destroyed, the redan still is a stout challenge with what seems to be a lot of original characteristics.

A redan for lefties has no place in the contest, and it looks like a punchbowl green to boot

Having played both holes I vote for Forsgate.  While a Nader, I witness two older gentlemen who could have not have carried the green with a drivee deftly play the slope of the fairway to access a front right pin location.  By comparison, the Knoll's kickplate is not functional in that manner.

As has been hinted at...I would prefer "neither" here.

But with gun to head....

Knoll...I can't tell what I'm looking at with Forsgate, thanks to one lousy photo and a yardage guide scan.

Having played them both...I have to go with Forsgate, despite it's inverted nature.  Easily one of the strongest holes on a very solid layout.  Tough draw for the Knoll here.

I've played them both  probably more than 100 times combined.

The Knoll get my vote for a number of reasons.
Amongst the reasons is that The Knoll's green is exceptionally unique with a spine in it

The nader at Forsgate gets my vote...
Great story as a played in a tournament and watched the other three players in my group try to carry and land the ball at the back right pin and all the balls kicked over the green.  I smiled and hit a nice bump iron shot to the left center of the green and watched the ball roll just past the pin to tap in range. They all were in awe and after that hole they became extremely interested in my historical explanations of the other template holes.

Can a reverse Redan ever triumph over a true or pure Redan ?

So, you're going to rely solely on the democratic process.

Is that like when the 9 wolves and 2 sheep vote on what's going to be for dinner ? ;D

Being a lefty, I have to go with the true Redan, Forsgate.
